Oppenheimer (2023)
Where to Watch: Theaters, DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital in November
Characters: Leslie Groves, J. Robert Oppenheimer
Relationship: Leslie Groves/J. Robert Oppenheimer
Background: I loved this film and was immediately grabbed by the relationship between these two, or, at least, the way Cillian Murphy and Matt Damon portrayed it. The opposing personalities, an interview played like a meet-cute, figuring out how to work together to make the Manhattan Project a success, Groves going out of his way to protect Oppenheimer from Pash, the cross-country train trips with just each other for company, the scattered moments of shifting power dynamics between them, the way their relationship seems to dissipate as they leave Los Alamos- there's so much going on that immediately grabbed my attention and sustained my interest. I have yet to read American Prometheus or any other supplementary materials so I'm really going off the film's interpretation of their personalities and relationship and am more than fine with you doing the same for fic writing. Although I won't object to any additional research you'd like to do if it works with whatever you write/plot.
Prompts:

• Any post-Los Alamos meet-up; maybe if they were romantically involved at Los Alamos, the two of them struggling to see if anything they shared together can live outside that space
  
• Internal pining from one over the other without it ever being fully realized- I can more easily see Groves pining from afar, maybe relentlessly repressing any romantic feelings, but still catching himself being "weak" and protective over Oppenheimer
  
• Any kind of PWP before or after the Trinity Test- working out the nerves before and/or celebrating after
  
• Soulmate AU where neither have found their soulmate and while both react differently (Robert feeling free to chase after anyone and Groves using it as an excuse to devote all time to his work) to a lack of connection beforehand, it makes the Project and general war effort much more difficult when they discover they're each other's soulmates
  

Clown in a Cornfield Series- Adam Cesare

Relationship: Ruston "Rust" Vance/Cole Hill
Background: These slasher novels are so much fun and I quickly grew to love the main characters in the first book and was pleasantly surprised that it ended with these two characters confessing their feelings for each other in a Big Romantic Moment involving the Kiss of Life trope. Even better, the second book digs deeper into their new relationship and how it develops on the heels of a hugely traumatic situation. And without breaking them up or killing one off (fingers crossed that book 3 keeps my guys together). I love how the first book merely references their history together and the second book fixates mostly on their future. While no other character is explicit listed, please feel free to add any that make sense for the fic, Quinn being a prime example. 
Prompts:

• Any fic digging into their history together- how close they were as kids, was there anything more between them when they were younger, what drove them apart, etc.
  
• Future fic where they're trying to build a more stable,domestic life together but still have to deal with the traumas and ghosts of the past
  
• Book 2 got into Rust's jealous feelings over Hunter trying to get with Cole, but what if we got to see Cole jealous instead? Could be pre-canon, with someone else (boy or girl) trying to be friends (or more than) with Rust or post-canon where Cole plays the obnoxious, clingy boyfriend to keep people from hitting on Rust. Bonus points if Rust fails to see why Cole's jealous because he's either too in love to ever leave Cole or unaware of how other people find him attractive
  
• A future kid fic where they're both stressing out in different ways about being parents- Cole afraid he's going to turn out like his awful father and Rust scared he won't be able to protect them
  
• General possessive behavior between the two that manifests even more urgently during sex- could be a post-book two PWP

Wolfwalkers (2020)

Details: This is such an incredible and magical film that I wish there was more platonic and familial fic for. The ending really leaves you with an impression that these four characters have built a new wolfwalker family together and would love to explore the nuances of those new dynamics through fic. Especially considering the Bill lost his wife and Moll seems to have lived without any kind of husband. How do the girls cope? Robyn with a stepmother and Mebh with the first real father figure in her life? How do Bill and Moll fall in love, considering the baggage of their past? If you're interested in exploring only one of these dynamics, that's totally fine with me. Or you're more than welcome to write a fic that explores how all of the characters fit together in their new life. I'm mostly looking for post-canon fics though since I'm really fascinated by the family the film leaves us with.
Prompts:

• Moll and Bill trying to have some time alone without their daughters constantly interrupting (can be as explicit as you like)
• Robyn adjusting to having Moll as a stepmother and Mebh having Bill as (probably) the only father figure she's ever known
  
• Robyn and Mebh conniving to parent trap Bill and Moll
  
• General werewolf family shenanigans as they build a new home together

Cursed (2005)

Relationships:Bo/Jimmy Myers
Background: Totally cheesy and of its time, but still one of my secret faves. It's a crime that Jimmy and Bo never ended up together, though I am glad Bo survived the film. And while I didn't list Ellie as a character, I do love her older sister relationship to Jimmy and would not mind if she played a role in the fic.I'm a big fan of werewolves and love the idea of Jimmy continuing to be one after the events of the film. This is definitely a film with so much potential for post-canon fics and if you write anything, I'll leave it up to your discretion to include Jimmy remaining as a werewolf or not.
Prompts:

• Future fic where they reunite as adults and while Bo's definitely still holding a torch, Jimmy's finally realized he's interested too
  
• Post-canon story where Bo is kicked out his house for being gay and ends up living with Ellie and Jimmy, leading to tension between the two boys and realizations for Jimmy
  
• Established relationship fic where they've been happily married for a while and Jimmy is still a werewolf, the two end up accidentally adopting a young, abandoned werewolf child
  
• Jealousy/Possessive fic where Jimmy finds himself irrationally upset when Bo starts developing a crush on someone else
  

Summer of 84 (2018)

Characters: Curtis Farraday, Tommy "Eats" Eaton, Davey Armstrong, Wayne Mackey
Relationships: Curtis Farraday/Tommy "Eats" Eaton, Davey Armstrong & Wayne Mackey
Details: This is such a terrific and nasty little film that really positions itself as an anti-nostalgia story, especially in how it (correctly) identifies thatthe real threats are always closer to home and more often found in the people you know and trust than any outsiders. I really loved the little friend group, especially the bond between Curtis and Tommy, who, at the end, share an isolated moment of vulnerability together. I'm curious how that relationship would change after Mackey escapes and the friend group is fractured. I could see those two splintering off together, either due to guilt at not believing Davey or to keep each other safe. I'm also fascinated by the relationship between Wayne Mackey and Davey Armstrong. Their final confrontation is so menacing and horrifying that it lingers with you long after the film's over. How does Davey grow up with that threat hanging over his head? Does he cut himself off from everyone to avoid more collateral damage? Is he eventually driven to insanity, overtaken by paranoia and delve into violence himself? Maybe he pursues his own career in law enforcement, as a means of chasing after Mackey. And what would a future reunion look like between them? I'm fine with any fic focusing on either relationship and while I'd prefer Curtis/Tommy to have more of a romantic focus, I'm open to just about anything between Wayne and Davey. It's a deeply fucked-up dynamic so there's no need to sugarcoat it. I'm even fine if you want to explore something more sexual, only as long as it doesn't feature explicit pedophilia and instead was a future fic with the younger character aged up. Underage sex between characters of same age is fine, as is younger characters having romantic/sexual fantasies.
Prompts:

• Curtis and Tommy got together the night Mackey attacked their friends and, after they find out, the guilt and disgust overshadows their burgeoning relationship
• Before he's revealed as a killer, Davey finds himself crushing on Mackey and having embarrassing fantasies about him; when he gets older, even knowing he's a serial killer, these thoughts don't fully go away
• Near the end of their high school years, Tommy is the full-fledged bad boy heartthrob of Cape May who could have anyone he wants, but still pines after Curtis, still a major nerd; going for some She's All That, 10 Things I Hate About You, Grease vibes with this one- fun opposites attract romcom and can be just a post-canon fic or an AU where the characters weren't friends as kids
• Davey's become a detective and is obsessively pursuing Mackey in between working other cases until the Cape May murders start up again
